In my case on Windows 7 it worked straight out of the box - a great little camera which I can highly recommend. An orange LED to the left of the camera lens shows when you are being filmed, which is nice to know. I have not changed many of the settings but the picture zoom works fine, and when zoomed the camera view may be moved up and down using its software without having to touch the webcam. The camera works well even in low light and produces a natural colour balance when the "RightLight" setting is enabled. I have a pair of speakers placed behind the monitor and get no problems with feedback. The camera is light and sits comfortably on top of the monitor with just a gentle pressure in its clamp to keep it attached. You can get it on the Logitech website itself or Amazon.

It will also pick up voices of other people in the same room. Today I will be reviewing the Logitech HD C525 720p Autofocus Webcam. The microphone is sensitive and sitting a metre or so from the camera, speaking normally it picks up my voice just fine. The picture quality is very good and it works well with Skype on my PC (it is nice too not to have to fiddle with a headset and microphone for each conversation).

The picture quality is actually quite decent after finding LWS and making some adjustments (no thanks to Logitech). Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Logitech HD Webcam C525, Portable HD 720p Video Calling with Autofocus at. But now we'll keep the C525 and put up with the old LWS control software until Logitech get their act together and make their webcam control software work for all their current webcams.

I had to set the laptop to full HD and reboot before it was usable.
The main problem is that it's unusably tiny on a 4K screen. It provides a pretty decent range of controls for white balance etc. Logitech said it was Win 8 only but it installed OK on Win 10 and recognised the C525 at once. Finally I located a copy of their older Logitech Webcam Software at a 3rd party download site. The air turned blue - how dare they waste my time and money like that? My first instinct was to return the C525 for a refund on the basis it is not as described (the glowing Capture puff on their website never says it's for an unknown subset of their models and it was the main factor in my purchase decision.) But we have so many video calls nowadays that I persisted.
Finally I found someone in a support forum saying he'd been told Capture does not work with some of their webcams, C525 included. But where we usually do video calls is less well lit and I just could not get the Capture software to 'see' the webcam so I couldn't alter white balance etc. In the right light it was immediately quite good (on my PC next to a window, daytime). So I checked out webcams in depth and was impressed by the capabilities of Logitech's Capture webcam control software. I got a cheap no name webcam but immediately returned it after finding it only seemed to work with 256 colours - nasty. We've had problems with the webcam on our laptop giving us red complexions - difficult to counter as we have only warm lighting in that area.
